Google Search for Android now shows in-app results

Just over a month after Google announced that it wanted to start deep-indexing applications, the company has revealed that the fruit of app-indexing is here. Google will now show content from deep-inside the apps as a part of the search results when you search via the official app or via Chrome/ Android browser on your Android device.

To get such app results, you will need to have these apps installed and then Google will give you a link to open the search result directly in the app (see example in the image above). At this point, only 13 applications are supported – AllTrails, Allthecooks, Beautylish, Etsy, Expedia, Flixster, Healthtap, IMDb, Moviefone, Newegg, OpenTable, Trulia, and Wikipedia.
