HTC has announced that its first tablet, the Flyer, will go on sale in the UK from the 9th of May; the tablet has already gone on pre-order at Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy and Clove Technologies.
The 7-inch tablet will carry a rather hefty suggested retail price of £599.99 although we believe that prices will be tumbling rather quickly if the same pattern we witnessed with the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Motorola XOOM repeats itself.
The Flyer tablet has a 1024x600 pixel screen resolution, a single core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon system on chip, 1GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage that can be augmented to 64GB (thereby matching the storage capacity of the iPad 2), Wi-Fi, 3G, a five-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front facing one, plus the HTC Scribe stylus pen.
